Thoughts on DIVERGENT!

AHHH how excited were you to watch Divergent, assuming you have watched it already? I cannot even contain my excitement and passion for how much I loved the movie! Veronica Roth did an amazing job with the series and if you haven't gotten the chance to read all books in this trilogy, well, what are you waiting for? GO, read it!! If you are into that futuristic, sci-fi, adventure, and romance book, this is definitely something you will love!

Okay, let's talk about the movie. Hold on, SPOILER ALERT..in case I do spoil something that is not intended! What did you think? I loved the movie even though a lot of people say it did lack a lot of detail. But, I feel like so many novels turned into movies always lack detail and it is something we as the viewers should expect. Honestly, I just loved all the actors in Divergent. At first, I actually had trouble imagining Shailene Woodley playing Tris and Theo James playing Four, but their chemistry built in the movie was absolutely beautiful and I don't think I can wait any longer for Insurgent to come out!!! Shailene is seems like such an adorable, genuine person and in my opinion really fits Tris' character. Theo James is just so masculine and at first glance you would think he was a flat character with not many emotions. However, the scene with Tris and Tobias (aka Four) on the balcony after he saves her and she ends up staying at his place, honestly makes you wish there were more Four's out there! He shows her his tattoos on his back and reveals how genuine he really is. Tris falls for him and they share their first kiss, which was so romantic! I thought I loved Peeta and Katniss, but now it seems I have fallen for Tris and Four! What I love about these to movie couples is how much chemistry you can see between them in real life too! After I watch movies/shows that I love and get obsessed with, this usually follows me taking a handful of online quizzes and watching their interviews in real life. The excitement cannot be contained!! So, overall, I give Divergent an A++, I absolutely loved it!! Also, if you haven't listened to the Divergent soundtrack, you definitely should! I especially love Ellie Goulding's songs in the album, and am currently listening to them non-stop! Anyways, tata for now, I hope you enjoyed this blog post!

Kindness

To be kind is to hold the door for the lady walking behind you. To be kind is to put others needs in front of yours. Kindness is everywhere. Everyday, I remind myself to be kind. You never know how much one person's kindness can mean to someone. Sometimes when a random person is kind to me, it brightens my day and brings up my mood. To know that above all those that may put you down, there are people who care or who always make sure to be make you smile makes the world seem like not such a bad place after all. I admire those who do nothing but good to those around them. In my opinion, true acts of kindness come from the heart, not from any personal gain or something along those lines. Since nobody is perfect, kindness is something we can all work on. I encourage you to do a random act of kindness once a day and see how people react. Knowing that my actions can make a persons day just warms my heart to the perfect temperature. Today's quote I chose from Pinterest to represent kindness is: "Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see." -Mark Twain. Thanks for reading this daily dose of inspiration series I am doing! Come back soon! Have a beautiful and happy day friends!

Daisies Trend?!?

Did someone say DAISIES? I am actually starting to see daisy prints every where in so many stores! I think I'm starting to see a new trend!! Yay! Go me! (hahaha...)  Well, I think daisies look so cute on clothing,  I actually think it started from that daisy crop top from Urban Outfitters which I actually debated getting. Instead, like months after, I decided to get the daisy top I am wearing in the picture, from Winners! Its chiffon fabric and button up front makes the tank so laid back and comfortable. (I think comfort is a #1 thing to consider when deciding what clothes to buy..I mean, would you really wear something that is truly unbearable to wear without having to fix it every few seconds? Well...I guess if it is really super cute and hard to pass up!) I paired it with a pair of black leggings from Aritzia (as usual..), a dainty gold necklace from Forever 21, my timberland look alike boots from DSW shoes, and a over-sized caramel coloured knit cardigan also from Forever 21(surprise!!)!

Right now I'm really getting into floral patterns since we are transitioning into the spring season! I can't wait to post spring outfit of the days too! If you live somewhere that is still cold, aren't you tired of it? I don't think I can wait any longer for the warm weather to come, especially since we are expecting a lot of snow tomorrow. Well, I hope you enjoyed this outfit of the day post, have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happiness

We all have times where we feel moody, sad, lonely, etc..and that's okay. We are human so feelings like that are normal. (Just pointing out that I am in no way an expert on feelings or emotions or your mental well being, these are just opinions coming from my point of view) But sometimes, I let these feelings consume me, making me miserable and negative. To be completely honest, it never does me any good. This year, I am proud of myself for realizing this and becoming a better person with a more positive outlook on life. For once I can say that I have actually been working on on of my new years resolutions. It has honestly made me a thousand times happier. Just remember that stressing over the little things does not let you achieve anything, so you might as well seize the moment and make the best out of every hour, minute, and second of your life! I believe this is something everyone goes through and must learn to overcome! We are in control of how we feel, so we shouldn't let our feelings negatively affect us! I chose this quote from pinterest today as a reminder to me, and anyone out there that it's up to us to be happy. Just remember to be so happy that everyone around you can't help to be happy too! Happy Monday! :)

A Winter OOTD

Here is an outfit of the day of one of my friends and I. As much as I love fall/winter fashion, I am so excited for spring to begin. Here I am wearing my favourite army jacket with leather sleeves which I think adds a great, unique touch! I paired it with plain black leggings a white cardigan for layering and a blue and black striped long sleeved top. Around my neck, I decided to go with a double layered gold accent necklace, (which you probably can't see very well in the picture) from Forever 21. Finally, I put on some combat boots and my favourite purse at the moment! My friends super cute outfit is a over-sized comfy cream knit sweater paired with what I like to say a peacock scarf (only because the design reminds me of a peacocks beautiful feathers!) I absolutely love velvet leggings and her cute suede brown boots. I'd like to end this post by saying a quote that I think fits our picture oh so well....

You're never fully dressed without a smile! :)

Welcome

My name is Genevive. Welcome to my blog, Perspective. Here, you will step into the shoes and look at the world through my eyes. I also plan on writing lifestyle and random posts based on what I feel like writing about. I must admit, I may not be the best writer, but once there is something that inspires me, I will definitely write my heart out.

"It's not what you look at that matters. It's what you see."
-Henry David Thoreau

Hakuna Matata, it means no worries for the rest of your days. I strongly believe that we should live life and not stress over the simple little things in life. It's not worth your time stressing over things you can't control. It's taken me a long time to realize this, but I hope you can too. I've become so much happier just being positive and looking at life with opening and welcoming eyes. We never know what life will bring us, but it's worth the wait. I believe there is something great and wonderful destined for everyone, but it takes time for us to figure out what it is.
